Decades of Code. The Origins of BECK Digital.

The Early 1980s

The Foundations of Logic

Long before the internet was a household necessity, brothers Ryan and Michael Beck began programming together in elementary school. It was the spark that ignited a lifelong pursuit of logic, systems, and code.

1993 – 2001

Decoding Systems & Early Web Architecture

Ryan's service as a U.S. Army military intelligence linguist—deciphering complex syntaxes in Dari and Tajik—ingrained a deep understanding of pattern recognition that seamlessly translated to software development. While completing a BS in Computer Operations Management, Ryan and Michael entered the professional tech world in Chicago at SiteVisions, developing early web solutions for high-profile clients like Dolce & Gabbana and Gold’s Gym. This hands-on development experience quickly scaled into the enterprise space when the brothers relocated to Greenville, SC. There, Ryan served as the Architect of Web Application Development for NuVox Communications, leading the teams responsible for building custom applications that bridged IT, Engineering, and Marketing, with Michael working alongside him as a developer.

2002 – 2012

The Mediasation Era

Recognizing the growing need for scalable web platforms, Ryan and Michael co-founded Mediasation, a custom CMS company, alongside partners Charles Carter and James Rivers. Over the next decade, the company experienced explosive growth, scaling to 30 employees and successfully developing over 1,500 websites.

2013 – 2015

Expanding Capabilities with Fuel

To enhance their creative offerings, the partners at Mediasation acquired Fuel, a design agency. With Ryan serving as President, the combined team grew to 45 people and expanded heavily into traditional marketing and print, operating under the Fuel name.

2016

The Strategic Pivot: The Birth of BECK Digital

After years of managing full-service traditional marketing, Ryan and Michael realized their true passion—and greatest value to clients—was in complex technology. They made a defining pivot, spinning off the top-tier development team from Fuel to officially launch BECK Digital. The goal was singular: abandon print and traditional marketing to focus purely on custom web development and tech-first solutions.

2017

Structuring for Enterprise Scale

Over its first several years, BECK Digital strengthened its operational and executive core. The agency merged with the leadership of the ADEC group, bringing on Tim Mesaric, and appointed Jordan Beck to architect the firm's finance and operations, setting the stage for national growth.

2019

Pacific Expansion

After successfully acquiring The Queen's Health System as a major enterprise client, BECK Digital expanded its physical footprint by opening a dedicated office in Honolulu, Hawaii. This allowed the team to seamlessly architect, deploy, and support complex web solutions across the Pacific.

2020

The Enterprise Powerhouse

With a mature leadership structure and an expanded footprint, BECK Digital accelerated its delivery of highly custom software and complex web architecture for over 200 clients, becoming a trusted technology partner for global innovators like Michelin, Motorola, and Shell.

2023

Western North Carolina Footprint

To support continued operational growth and better serve regional enterprise partners, BECK Digital opened a new office in Western North Carolina, further expanding its physical presence beyond the Greenville headquarters.

2025-Present

The AI & Answer Engine Era

Remaining at the forefront of technological evolution, BECK Digital officially entered its newest chapter: Artificial Intelligence optimization. Recognizing that visually heavy websites are invisible to modern Large Language Models (LLMs), BECK launched proprietary "AI Shadow Site" technology. By creating ultra-lightweight Markdown versions of enterprise sites and implementing intelligent bot routing, BECK Digital now leads the industry in Answer Engine Optimization (LLMO) and Agentic AI workflows—ensuring client data is structured, accurate, and authoritative for the machines that are replacing traditional search.
